2403 - Cheetah Cub
South Africa - 2007; This little Cheetah cub, hiding in the brush, will grow to be one of the fastest animals on the face of the Earth, with the ability to travel at speeds of up to 75 miles per hour. Tiny at birth, cubs weigh between 5.3 and 11 ounces and are born complete with their distinctive spots as well as downy fur on their necks and backs. This “mane” is shed as the cheetah grows older. Young cubs remain with their mother for about 20 months as they learn the survival skills they will need to hunt and avoid predators.
