4573 – Two Bears Fishing
Alaska - 2006; In Brooks Falls, Alaska these brown bears wait at the top of a small waterfall to snatch sockeye salmon as they swim upstream to spawn. This salmon appears to jump right between the two bears and luckily continued its trip upstream safely. Here in the Katmai National Park in southwestern Alaska, bears are accustomed to seeing humans and have learned to trust people. The bears essentially pay no attention to the human inhabitants and simply go about their business of non-stop eating. There are approximately 2,000 brown bears in the 3.6 million acre reserve.
