6344 – Bluebonnets and Bee
Montgomery, Texas 2011; Bluebonnets are indigenous to Texas and were named the state flower in 1901. Majestic scenes of rolling hills covered entirely in blue by these brilliant flowers have become a trademark of springtime in the Texas Hill Country. Bees swarm the area to pollinate. Once a bloom is pollinated the center turns from white to pink. You can see here that this bluebonnet has several pink centers ensuring yet another beautiful harvest of flowers for the following spring.
