1075 – Remarkable Rock
Kangaroo Island, Austrailia - 2009; Australia is geologically one of most stable continents in the world. Away from the earth’s plate boundaries, volcanoes don't erupt and new mountains are not created. This geological stability has given erosion time to uncover some of the most impressive and strange rock formations in the world. Known as the Remarkable Rocks, these dramatic shapes have been carved out of a massive granite dome by wind and sea spray, over some 500 million years.
